Chez Madeleine
I walked up past Marie Métrailler’s house, past the For de Blatt (the Maison des Arts centre) and I entered Chez Madeleine. I could just as well have gone around the chalet and entered from the small village square. I took the shortest route in my eagerness to come under the spell of this building erected in 1634, which enfolds and soothes.
By entering from the lowest level, I can change comfortably in the ski room before climbing the glass and steel stairway up to the next level.
The living room is spacious and cosy, the engraved beams overhead... Over and above these constellations, the two upper levels are divided into three magnificent suites.
Staying at Madeleine’s house not only plunges you into the heart of the village, it is also a delightful voyage through time.
The traditional Japanese tub carved into the vein of local tree species is a pure voyage of the senses.

Chez Berthe
If you go past Berthe’s house, look up the first balcony and you’ll see the initials “BF” and the date 1757. That’s the date when this magnificent traditional chalet - Berthe’s home - was built.
This is the first chalet in the collection; we completed the renovation in 2018. It was named after one of the occupants of this place steeped in history.
As with each stage of the project, we were motivated to preserve and pass on this legacy.
This authentic Evolène-style chalet consisting of a suite and two bedrooms is built on three levels. Set in the centre of the village, it will immerse you in the life of the village.
As with each of our houses, the traditional soapstone will cradle you in its gentle warmth.

Chez Catherine & Joseph
Catherine and Joseph fell in love in these two ancient hay barns, among the oldest in the village. We discovered the traces of their burgeoning love in the remains of these buildings. He was a primary-school teacher a few valleys away from here; she waited for him in Évolène.
They married... These two interconnected raccards have been renovated as a cleverly-united whole.
With no change to the outside appearance, you can pass from one barn to the other along hidden indoor passages to reach a lounge room, then the other, the suite, one of the two bedrooms or the hammam...
What bliss to plunge into this private hammam to cap off an enjoyable day’s skiing.
A real doll’s house and the perfect setting for an idyll. Romantic nooks and treasures of creativity will enchant the child in you.
